Laptop Buying Advice: Go Cheap

This morning when I checked out InstaPundit it had a link to a good article in pcmag, an authoritative site. The article gives good advice on buying PCs. It makes a lot of sense.

Except I thought of something to add to the good advice. So I emailed a comment to the post. The comment was accepted and appears on the page of the post. It says:

“One rule I follow when I buy electronics is: buy the cheapest you can get away with. Electronics changes so fast that whatever you buy today will be obsolete in a short while. It’s really awful to own something that was top of the charts yesterday but is nowhere on the charts today and tomorrow. If you spend too much on something that will be obsolete soon you are not likely to upgrade soon enough.”

I happen to believe my good advice and follow it.
